The Biggest Upcoming Games That You Can Preorder Now

We’re only two weeks into 2025, and we’ve already seen some exciting big releases, including Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, Civilization VII, and Dynasty Warriors Origins, and Donkey Kong Country Returns HD. However, the rest of the year is stacked with even more highly anticipated games for console and PC like Monster Hunter Wilds, Doom: The Dark Ages, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, and more–not to mention the the upcoming launch of the Nintendo Switch 2. Preorders for many of these games are already live, so to help you keep track of what’s available, we’ve compiled this guide for of the biggest 2025 games you can preorder now.

Yu-Gi-Oh Early Days Collection

The Yu-Gi-Oh Early Days Collection features 14 Yu-Gi-Oh games originally released on Game Boy, GBC, and GBA, including a handful that were exclusive to Japan. The next entry in 2K Sports’ PGA Tour golf series launches February 28 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. There’s a long list of preorder bonuses, including an extra character based on Shooter McGavin from the movie Happy Gilmore. Physical standard editions are available to preorder now. Monster Hunter Wilds

The latest entry in Capcom’s Monster Hunter franchise promises a fast, more streamlined version of the compelling grind fans have loved since the original game on PS2. While the onboarding is friendlier to newcomers this time around, the core loop of hunting giant beasts to turn them into better weapons and armor so you can fight even biggermonsters remains intact, and for the first time takes place in a fully seamless open world. Physical editions include a $70 standard edition and a $75 Steelbook edition on PS5 and Xbox Series X. Suikoden 1 & 2 HD Remaster

This remastered collection of the classic PS1 RPGs Suikoden I and II launches on March 6, and the initial release includes a $50 Day One Edition that includes the Prosperity Orb and Fortune Orb in-game items, which double the amount of money and experience you earn from battles, respectively, plus a generous 57,300 Potch (the in-game money) to kick-start your journey.

Split Fiction

Split Fiction is the next game from It Takes Two developer Hazelight Studio. Like the team’s previous games, Split Fiction is a co-op adventure where two players control one of two characters, Mio and Zoe, both of whom are fiction novelists who get sucked into alternate realities based on their fantasy and science fiction books. The game will focus on puzzles and platforming challenges that require both players to work together.

WWE 2K25

WWE 2K25 looks to bring a slew of updates to the annual pro-wresling sim franchise, including all-new game modes like the new online competitive mode, The Island. Several versions are available to preorder, including the $70 standard physical edition on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, and Xbox One. Assassin’s Creed Shadows

After several delays, Assassin’s Creed Shadows will finally launch on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on March 20. That game will take the Assassin’s Creed series to feudal Japan, where players will be able to take on the game’s open-world narrative as one of two protagonists: the skilled sword-wielding Samurai Yasuke or the stealthy shinobi Naoe. Numerous versions of the game are available, including multiple physical editions with retailer-exclusive bonuses, and special digital editions packed with extra content. Bleach: Rebirth of Souls

Bleach Rebirth of Souls releases March 21, 2025, on PS5, Xbox Series X |S, and PC. The 3D fighting games focuses on sword-based combat, and features a single-player campaign that retells the story of the popular manga series, and there are local and online multiplayer modes.

Killing Floor 3

Killing Floor 3 is a new co-op FPS where teams of up to six players take on hordes of zombies. The game builds upon the previous titles in the series, adding new interactive elements to maps, an even larger arsenal of weapons to try out, and gruesome new visual features like the all-new “MEAT System” to allow for even gorier zombie dismemberment. Physical and digital preorders are available on console and PC, and preorders include either the Flatline Tactical Bundle or the Clamefield Patrol Specialist Skins Pack depending on which version you purchase.

Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition

One of the last few Wii U-exclsuive games is finally coming to Switch with the Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition. This also means Xenoblade fans will now have all four games in the series and their DLC expansions available on Switch. This new Definitive Edition release features enhanced graphics, retooled UI, updated gameplay, and even additional content to flesh out the original’s story. Preorders are available now, and grabbing the game at Best Buy gets you exclusive bonuses like 100,000 Credits (in-game currency), multiple armor and weapon items, and a physical metal mini poster featuring the game’s cover art.

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves

SNK is resurrecting its long-dormant fighting game series with Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. The 1-vs-1 fighter is the first new entry in the series in over 25 years, and brings back a roster of classic characters like Terry Bogard and Mai Shiranui, along with new gameplay features like roll-back netcode, and single-player RPG mode, and the option to play with streamlined controls. Preorders include the classic Terry Bogard skin based on his appearance in Fatal Fury 2 as a bonus. A physical Deluxe Edition is also available that includes a steelbook case, 100-page artbook, 2-disc soundtrack, stickers, and more.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is the debut RPG from Sandfall Interactive. The game was made in Unreal Engine 5 and sports stunning visuals alongside turn-based combat inspired by the early Final Fantasy game. Multiple physical editions are available, including a $50 standard edition, $70 Lumiere Edition, and $150 Collector’s Edition. Digital preorders are also available.

Doom: The Dark Ages

Doom: The Dark Ages is the latest entry in one of the most important shooter franchises of all time. The game is a follow-up to Doom 2016 and Doom Eternal, building upon the gunplay of both titles while introducing new melee-focused weapons like a chainsaw shield. Narratively, The Dark Ages is a prequel to Doom 2016 and serves as a bridge between the new era of Doom and the original Doom, Doom II, and Doom 64. Preorders include a unique Void Slayer in-game skin, while the Premium and Collector’s Editions also get you up to 2-day early access to the single-player campaign starting May 13.

Capcom Fighting Collection 2

Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma

Rune Factory combines elements of role-playing, farming, and dating sims, and the next game in the series, Guardians of Azuma, takes the series to an all-new setting based on feudal Japanese folklore and culture. Elden Ring: Nightreign

FromSoftware is taking the core of its popular action RPG Elden Ring and remixing it into a co-op multiplayer, run-based extraction game. Teams of up to three players set out into the new realm of Limveld to explore, fight bosses, and collect loot before the three-day in-game timer ends. The large open world is procedurally generated with different points of interest, biomes, and enemies each run. The game launches May 30 on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.

Lost Soul Aside

After almost a decade of development, the stylish action RPG Lost Soul Aside launches on PS5 and PC on May 30. Preorders for the game are available now for the physical standard edition and Digital Deluxe Edition, and grabbing the game early unlocks a bonus in-game outfit for the game’s protagonist Kaser, and gets you a few bonus in-game items.

Power Rangers Rita’s Rewind Physical Edition

While Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers: Rita’s Rewind initially launched as a digital title on PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in December 2024, the co-op brawler is getting an official physical release on PS5 and Switch on May 30. While there are no preorder bonuses, there’s a $35 standard edition and a $50 Deluxe Edition that includes a bunch of bonus items.

Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1&2 Remastered Physical Edition

Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1&2 Remastered is another release that’s been available digitally since December 2024 and is soon getting a physical release. Like the digital release, the physical edition includes enhanced versions of the cult-classic action-adventure games Soul Reaver and Soul Reaver 2. Both titles feature upgraded graphics and new gameplay features, plus in-game galleries for concept art and behind-the-scenes content. There is a $30 standard edition and a $50 Deluxe Edition that includes extra goodies.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is a remake of the hit PS2 game Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. While this new version keeps the original voice acting and aims to be a faithful recreation of Snake Eater’s story, the graphical engine is entirely new, and several new gameplay changes have been added, including an additional over-the-should camera view. Preorders for the physical and digital editions are available now, though the $200 Collector’s Edition is currently sold out.

Digimon Story: Time Stranger

Release date: TBA 2025Platforms: PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PCPreorder bonuses: N/A

Digimon Story: Time Stranger is the next entry in Bandai Namco’s monster-taming RPG series. Like other Digimon Story titles, Time Stranger looks to be a narrative-focused adventure and will feature turn-based battles, and Digimon raising systems that will unlock more powerful Digivolutions. While the game is scheduled to launch in 2025, no specific release date has been confirmed at the time of writing (neither has the final box art). However, the game is available to preorder on all platforms, including physical PS5 and Xbox Series X copies.
